Terms of Use
How Upgrade My Home works, how listings are presented, and what you can expect from us.
The short version
Upgrade My Home helps homeowners find and contact businesses that provide home energy upgrades and assessments.
Free for homeowners. You can browse the directory and send enquiries without creating an account.
Payment does not affect search position. Premium listings offer additional features and information, without buying a higher place in the results.
Verification has a specific meaning. A Verified badge confirms the checks described below. It does not guarantee qualifications or the quality of work.
You choose who you work with. Any agreement for an assessment, installation or other service is between you and the business you engage. We do not receive a commission on that work.
01
About these terms
These terms apply to homeowners using Upgrade My Home and businesses listed on the directory.
Upgrade My Home (ABN 31 544 049 430) is an initiative of Evara. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of Upgrade My Home.
By using the website or maintaining a listing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
If you have any questions, contact hello@upgrademyhome.com.au. Our postal address is Suite 17, 89-97 Jones Street, Ultimo, NSW 2007.
02
Our role
We provide a directory that helps homeowners discover businesses offering home energy upgrades and assessments, learn about their services and contact them directly.
We are not a party to any agreement you make with a listed business. Quotes, payments, assessments, installations, warranties and other arrangements are between you and that business. We do not carry out or supervise the work, or guarantee its quality or outcome.
If you have a concern about work you have arranged, raise it with the business directly. You can also let us know, particularly if your concern relates to inaccurate listing information or whether a business should remain on the directory.
We do not issue licences or accreditations. Unless explicitly identified as independently checked, licence and accreditation details are statements supplied by the business. Where available, we link to the relevant official register so you can check their current status.
03
How search results are ordered
Businesses cannot pay for a higher search position. Premium listings provide additional features and space to showcase a business. Payment does not improve their position in directory search results.
A business’s stated service area determines whether it is eligible to appear for your location. Claiming a larger service area does not, by itself, improve its ranking.
We do not auction enquiries or allow businesses to bid for a higher position in your results.
If we change these principles, we will update this section before the changes take effect.
04
Which businesses we list
We focus on businesses that specialise in the home energy upgrades or assessments covered by the directory.
We decide whether a business meets this focus and may decline or remove listings that do not.
A listing may initially be created using publicly available information, before the business claims or contributes to it.
We distinguish between information we have independently confirmed and information supplied by a business. Where a detail requires independent confirmation and we cannot confirm it, we leave it unpublished.
05
What “Verified” means
Verification is free and cannot be purchased. A business receives a Verified badge only after we complete the checks below. A Premium Partner subscription does not include or guarantee verification.
When a listing displays a Verified badge, we have checked the following, and we record the date of each check:
- A representative of the business claimed the listing, proved they control the email address they gave us, and we approved the claim.
- The business’s ABN was active on the Australian Business Register, and its registered entity or business name matched the listing.
- The business was trading and offered the type of upgrade or assessment services shown on its listing.
Verification is not an endorsement or a guarantee of workmanship. It does not confirm that a business holds every licence, accreditation or insurance policy needed for your project.
Unless a listing expressly states otherwise, licence and accreditation details are supplied by the business. Check the relevant official registers before engaging them.
Verification reflects the checks completed on the date we recorded. A business’s circumstances may change after that date.

For homeowners
Browsing and enquiries
Browsing the directory and sending an enquiry are free. You do not need an account.
When you submit an enquiry, we send it to the business you selected so it can respond to your request. We cannot guarantee a response, quote or availability.
If you do not receive a response, you can contact us and we will try to help.
Choosing a business
Before engaging a business, check that it has the licences, qualifications and insurance required for your project.
We also encourage you to obtain a written quote, understand the payment and deposit terms, and confirm any warranties or guarantees directly with the business.
A directory listing or Verified badge does not replace these checks.
Information you share
The details you include in an enquiry are shared with the business you select. Only include information relevant to your request, and avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
07
The AI assistant on listings
Some Premium Partner listings have an AI assistant you can ask about that business. It is a computer program, not a person, and it answers only from the information on that listing.
Its answers are general information, not advice. They can be incomplete or wrong, so please confirm anything important with the business before you rely on it.
The assistant does not give prices, quotes or estimates for the business’s work. For those, it can help you send an enquiry to the business.
It answers for the listed business, not for Upgrade My Home. What it says is not a quote, an offer or a recommendation from us, and nothing it says affects your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
If you ask it to send an enquiry, you type your own details and see exactly what the business will receive before anything is sent. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to what you type.
We may limit or pause the assistant at any time, for example if it is being misused or if usage is unusually high.

For listed businesses
Accurate information
You are responsible for keeping the information you provide accurate, current and complete. This includes your contact details, services, service areas, licence and accreditation details, and any claims about your business or work.
Update your listing or contact us promptly if anything changes.
Your content
You retain ownership of the content you provide.
By submitting photographs, logos, descriptions or other materials, you give us permission to display and format them for your listing and its ordinary distribution, including directory search results and search engine previews.
You must have the rights and permissions needed for us to use that content.
You can ask us to stop using your content or remove your listing by contacting us.
Your enquiries
We do not currently charge per enquiry. If we introduce a per-enquiry fee, the notice and cancellation rights under Premium Partner subscriptions apply. We do not sell enquiries sent to your business to your competitors.
Emails from us
When you create a business account, by claiming a listing or adding your business, we may send you occasional emails about your listing, Premium Partner and offers from Evara that may help your business. They come from Upgrade My Home. Evara does not email you directly.
Every one has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing does not stop essential account, billing or service emails.
Leaving the directory
You can request removal of your listing at any time.
When we remove it, we also delete the contact details associated with the listing, except for records we need to retain for legal, billing or dispute-resolution purposes, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Editing or removing listings
We may edit or remove a listing if it is inaccurate, misleading or out of date, or if the business has stopped trading or no longer meets our listing criteria.
Where reasonably possible, we will contact you before taking action.
For a paid listing, we will explain the issue and give you 10 days to correct it before removing the listing. We may act sooner if the listing is causing harm to a homeowner or the business has stopped trading.
If we remove a paid listing for a reason other than false information you supplied, we will refund the unused portion of your prepaid subscription period. This does not affect any refund rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.
10
Availability and responsibility
We take reasonable care to keep the directory accurate and available. However, we cannot guarantee that every listing is complete or current, or that the website will always be available without interruption or error.
Business details, services and registration status can change. External websites and official registers are maintained by their respective operators.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including those under Australian Consumer Law.
Where the law permits us to limit liability for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the affected service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again. This limitation applies only where lawful and fair and reasonable in the circumstances.
11
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the directory develops or our services change.
We will publish updates on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. For material changes affecting paid subscriptions, we will notify affected businesses directly before the changes take effect.
If a change materially disadvantages your paid subscription, you may cancel because of that change and receive a refund for the unused portion of your prepaid subscription period.
12
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Subject to any rights you have under applicable law, disputes may be brought before the courts of New South Wales.
